Lance Byrd leaps onto UAB receiver and works to strip ball away as Owls close in...

....the ball squirts crazily into the air as Owls converge all around...

...but it sails through a couple Rice defender's hands and continues skyward as Owls look for whre in the heck it went...

....and lands three yards back, near a UAB running back who just happens to be trailing on the play.....

...there's something to be said for being out of position (and lucky) as UAB trailing back picks up ball....

....and heads for the sideline and the Owl goal....

....turning what could have been a UAB disaster into a missed Rice opportunity
